Cabbagetown was built in the late 1800s, and was the mill town for the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill. Today, while the cotton mill has been converted into apartments and condos, Cabbagetown’s historic renovated cottages on quaint narrow streets make this neighborhood one of the hottest properties in Intown Atlanta!

During the 1980s and 1990s, artists and musicians were drawn to Cabbagetown’s affordability and urban location. Although many of the “shotgun” homes of the mill town are now beautifully renovated, there are still plenty of “fixer-uppers” to be found.

Carroll Street, the commercial street of Cabbagetown, is host to several wonderful restaurants and shops, and is a great place for people-watching. The Cabbagetown Community Center hosts recreational and civic activities almost daily. Annual festivals like the Chomp & Stomp, and an active Cabbagetown Neighborhood Improvement Association make Cabbagetown a vibrant community with a strong identity.
